Some Florida Birds...

As it would be, a trip south has given me some new birds. They may be common to the locals but I really enjoyed seeing and photographing them. A Moore Hen, a Palm Warbler (I think not sure), a Little Blue Heron and an Anhinga. Also photographed some old favorites, the Great Blue Heron, a Great White Egret and a Boat-tailed Grackle.

Here a Boat-tail Grackle sits in a large leafless tree...

A Great Blue Heron exits the area...

A Great Blue Heron giving me his best side...

A Great White Egret searching for its lunch...
A Common Moore Hen showing its big feet...

A Little Blue Heron...

A Little Blue Heron...

I believe this might be a Palm Warbler...

Same warbler different perch...

Here an Anhinga is perched on a tree limb...

really nice shots of the heron and anhinga! can't help with the warbler i.d. - i think i've only seen the yellow-rumped here. the moorhen is cool! i was going to guess purple gallinule. :)

Larry, fantastic series of Florida birds! The "Sunshine State" is one of my favorite places to photograph birds. Love the Anhinga shots with the moss in the background, all are especially beautiful, though. Terrific post, as always!

Thanks T, you are right, but the locals seem to favor moorhen sooo that was the reason for the label.

Thank you Julie, I felt very fortunate to catch the Anhinga.

Thanks Bob.

Thank you Grace.

Appreciate it Chip, thanks.

Hey Joe, you're right finding and seeing new sights is exciting.
