A Swan and Jellyfish ;-) Only the Shadow knows... Some fishing success... AND Bald Eagles

We have had the fortunate opportunity to spend a little time on the shores of the Potomac River just a few miles away from the Chesapeake Bay. The property offers a nice pier from which to fish, that's where I spend most (all) of my time. Lots of things happen in on or near the water. A Swan glided in for a landing only a few yards away from me and began it's preening routine. They really contort themselves sometimes. As I am looking into the water I happened to see a meandering Jellyfish, I don't know, do Jellyfish meander? OK... So I'm looking out across the water in front of me and there it was, this menacing ominous shadow appeared right out in front of me. That's what you do when the fish aren't biting. Speaking about fishing, I did have a pretty good day. I caught a number of small Perch, a Catfish, a Drum and a Striped Bass. All fish caught were released back from where they came. Typically when we come here we will see at least one Bald Eagle this time there were two. The problem being they were a long way out and not having a lens large enough to bring them in was painful. It's always great to see them.

A Swan takes a look before beginning it's preen...
Preening the backside...
It's hard being beautiful...
Some places are hard to get to...
Jellyfish, apparently common this time of year...

Only the Shadow Knows...
Big old Catfish...

This apparently is a Red Drum...

A Striped Bass...
A Bald Eagle...

Two Bald Eagles...
