Whitetail Buck and His Harem...

A young 8 point whitetail buck is having some issues with making a selection from a group of does. He is definitely ready, the ladies are not. He relentlessly keeps following and chasing.

Creeeeepy... A Halloween House with Ghosts... I mean Guests...

Hello there, my name is Ebony, I live here.
I don't mind so much except for the noise. My guests are always knocking stuff over. They often make eerie sighing, laughing and groaning noises. It's always for attention, they like annoying and freaking people out.

It's usually not too bad until this time of year, they show themselves on a regular basis.
There she is again...Creepy...
Always sneaking peeks from the doors and windows... Check it out...

Let me tell you the truth, I don't really live here. Would you?

Great Blue Heron, Cardinal (fm), Clay-colored Sparrow, and a Song Sparrow

The Great Blue Heron flew from a pond up into the tree. He didn't stay very long. The female Cardinal stopped by long enough for a couple photos. The Clay-colored Sparrow is a new one for me. He bounced around in the bush long enough for me to capture a few images. The Song Sparrow was a poser, he offered me many photo ops.

Canada Geese and a Far Away Red-tailed Hawk with a Friend

Canada geese are almost always around. They will be migrating out of the area soon and will be gathering in large flocks in the eastern part of Maryland by the thousands. Our local flocks are considerably smaller, at least at the moment. Upon my approach to the ponds many geese took off and left the area but several stayed and offered me a few photos. The distant Red-tailed Hawk was visited by a Mocking bird. They both had a grand view of the area.

Beautiful morning = a Beautiful morning with a few Canadian Geese...

I'll go my way, you go yours...

Whitetail Buck and a bit of Fall Color

This particular young Whitetail Buck came up from behind me. I have my binoculars, I'm looking forward, left and right. Nothing, there is almost always something. Not sure why I turned around but when I did, there he stood. He was quite cooperative. After he stared me down, he walked right past me and continued to the other side of the field. The other photos are of what I sometimes do while waiting or looking for something else.

This Whitetail Buck came in behind me, I have no idea how long he was there before I noticed...

Whitetail Buck, he and I are on to each other...

Off to his desired direction...
Whitetail Buck, one last look...

Just liked the variety of grasses and beginning of Fall colors in the trees...

Wild Turkey... Whitetail Deer... Black Vultures... a Warbler and Sparrows

They had just crossed the railroad tracks and the Wild Turkeys were crossing the road out in front of me. They were in a hurry but I was able to get a few shots before they disappeared. I really got lucky with the Whitetail buck. He showed himself around the six o'clock hour, pm. I was able to take many pics of this guy, he seemed to like being around the does, tis the season you know. I don't think the rut is in yet, but there may be an early doe in heat. He wants to be there when she's ready. Cruising the country roads, a field of hay had been cut and unfortunately for some wild critter; it had received the bad side of the sickle and became vulture food. Here you will see a small gathering gorging. A little bit of trouble identifying the warbler and the sparrows. If my ids are incorrect please let me know.
Why did the Wild Turkeys cross the road?...
Wait for me!!!...
I'll get there when I get there... Sheesh...

I think I see a bug, yep, I see a bug...
Look at me...

Lickin' the stick...

OK, I see ya...

I'm going to check out the ladies...
Aaahhh!!!...

Black Vultures found a meal...
A loner...

Fixin' to feast...
Vesper Sparrow, I think... Help me if you can.
