A Couple of Perturbed Chickadees

A bird almost universally considered “cute” thanks to its oversized round head, tiny body, and curiosity about everything, including humans. During the breeding season, Black-capped Chickadees are territorial. Here a couple of chickadees are sparing each other for reasons they only know. A mate, territory, I'm not sure. They face off and scream at each other and finally the victor sends the challenger on his way. Neither seem to be suffering from the episode. Their none stop activity make them fun to watch and sometimes tough to photograph. These two guys were a treat.
