Hot Summer Hummers

When the sun went down enough to give us some shade and temps below 100 degrees a couple of Ruby throat hummingbirds came in to feed. I was using an ISO of 3200 and had trouble capturing the iridescence of the male. I’m going to need better lighting conditions in order to stop those wings. These little guys are a lot of fun and entertaining to watch.

I really enjoy watching hummingbirds, and this is the first year that I've put up a feeder where I can see them. I so want to get the amazing pictures like you have taken, but right now my 'good camera' is in Wisconsin with my husband--I think I should go buy a new one! :-)

Julie, thank you. Feisty for sure, somebody is always getting someone out of the way.

Thanks TWG. I'm thinking I should move the feeder from under the pine branches, out in the open somewhere.

Lois, thank you :)

Grammie, thank you. Can't they all just get along.

Kim, go get that camera. ;>)
