A Bee, Kingfisher, Barn Swallow, Great Blue Heron, a Frog and a Red Winged Blackbird

Many times I am stopped by a busy Bee, this again was one of those times. I have no idea upon what type of flower it occupies but I liked it. The Kingfisher is a bird that has always found me very easy to avoid. This guy still wasn't as close as I would have liked to have had it, but it is what it is. A young Barn Swallow rested in a tree while all of its siblings were flying all around. Frogs have no friends at the lily ponds. All creatures feathered, furred or scaled love to eat Frogs. They (the frogs) are incredibly wary. I was lucky to catch these guys. As always a Great Blue Heron gave me pause and a couple of pics. I have hundreds of photos of these guys, just can't help myself. Lastly a Red Winged Blackbird, a female, gives me a pose.

Lovely, the photos are fascinating, but the frog on a lily pad is superb.

Terrific series of nature photographs, Larry. I believe the bee is investigating a common milkweed plant. They are a host plant for monarch caterpillars. Awesome macro! I have yet to take photographs as wonderful as yours of a kingfisher. I keep trying, though. The frog sitting atop the lily pad brought a big smile to my face. Super post!
