A Red Fox Kit, Some Bees, A Fox Squirrel and a Piebald Whitetail

I got pretty lucky the other day. A young Fox kit bounced out of the tall grass and gave me a few moments where I was able to get a few photos.  As I walked past an area of flowering water plants I noticed they were very Bee friendly. Another water lily was host to a couple of insects. Then a Fox Squirrel stops by, not so sure at first but soon was comfortable enough to give me a couple shots. A rare sighting of a Piebald Whitetail Deer was a welcome surprise. Piebald deer (partially white) are from a recessive genetic trait and the deer usually become more prevalent due to overpopulation of a deer herd. Shortly after seeing the piebald deer a young Whitetail Buck, came surprisingly close. Notice the antler growth is in velvet.

This wonderful blog post certainly brought a big smile to my face starting off with the adorable Fox kit. Your photographs of the bees and insects on the various bloom are especially lovely. How lucky you were to see the young buck. A most delightful series of photographs, Larry. Beautiful nature. Awesome work!

Larry, once again, your pictures are amazing!! And what great shots of the kit--I'm envious! :-) We had one that was a little older a couple of weeks ago that took a run at our cat on the steps--It was just young and hungry and didn't know any better, but it was so fast that I just barely got one crummy shot--Next time!!

I hope you're staying cool, and enjoy your weekend!!

Awesome pictures! I just love the kit. First he sees you, then he turns the other way, then he sits down. And I had no idea that deer did that. You learn something new every day.

Hello Harry,
great photos .. the little fox likes it very much. I have ever had the good fortune and was little foxes, and even large monitor, ... seem to me like little puppies. If you have losses look here
