Rain...Mushrooms...Birds...Flowers...Whitetail... and Other Stuff

A week ago we received a significant portion of rainfall. Two or three days worth I believe. The ground was saturated and favored the growth of many mushrooms. Skies clear and days become less overcast and much more favorable. The rain put life back into the meadows. Turning them green and coloring them with a variety of flowers, which in turn treated the birds and butterflies. Photographing Bluebirds and a Phoebe was a treat in and of itself.

Our driveway becomes a small stream...

Almost everywhere we had mulch we had mushrooms...

Aaah... A better day...
Whitetails have discovered me...

Full moon and clear skies...

beautiful! the least flycatcher looks like our Eastern Phoebe - i know they both eat bugs so might be very similar. and flycatcher i.d. is maddening to me!

love the deer on the crest of the rise. and the first thistle poof photo is lovely! and the buckeye is my favorite butterfly. nothing 'common' about it in my eyes. :)

A most beautiful series of late summer images! I can almost hear the birds chirping. Gorgeous Common Buckeye shot. Love the turtle and White-tailed deer captures. All are fantastic! Always a joy to visit your wonderful blog!

Hey thanks T, I'll recheck my bird id, you may be right. The buckeye is one of my faves also.

Thank you Sam, I guess coming up and out of that water it's hard not to get slimmed.

Julie, thank you. We are starting to see more and more white-tails around here. Hope to post some pics soon.
