I finally got my photos of some Fox Squirrels. The Osage Oranges were scattered across the the ground and provided an ample supply of forage for the squirrels. It was an overcast wet morning and I really wasn't expecting much. That's what made it even better. They came, they ate and were gone.

oh my goodness! he's gorgeous! and FAT!!!! holy smokes, he's fat!!!! :) and CUTE!!!
What a nice photo essay. I didn't know they would eat the hedgeapples. We spread them around our foundation last year to keep down the bugs. Hmmmm maybe that explains so many squirrels last year.

Wonderful series, Larry! Looks like those squirrels are getting quite their fill of the Osage Oranges ... such chunky critters. All of the photographs are so very detailed and crisp. The last shot is my favorite. Fantastic!
I'll bet that he can't stuff it all in his pouches. Superb photos.
