I have been tormented by this Pileated Woodpecker for the longest time. Many times I would be out in the yard and would hear his calls. I'd grab my camera in hopes I would get a photo opportunity but would be evaded by him every time. This time however, I caught him as I turned into my driveway. It's all in the luck of the draw. The Whitetail Buck was spooked as I crept through the woods. Not much time for photos but I was able to snap off a couple. The Whitetail doe... I was lookin' back at her to see if she was lookin' back at me... And she was. OK... The last photo is veerrrry interesting. I rolled into the battlefield park as I have done many many times throughout the years. Being a place where many civil war soldiers were killed and being the month if Halloween, I believe I captured an image of a civil war spirit. Hmmm... Not so sure, but it's fun to ponder.

Hi Larry! GREAT shots!! I love the Pileated woodpeckers too and hear them around us, but I haven't gotten nearly enough pictures of them either--They are camera shy at times, aren't they--Unlike the ghost in your last shot--That's cool! :-)
Perhaps the spirit of...well who can say? I really like the Woody Woodpecker shots. They aren't easy to get.
i love the doe shot. and the pileated too. not sure about the spirit, but i never count out the possibility...
HI Larry...Those Pialated Woodpecker have beaten the dickens out of a dead maple tree in the front yard, but to get a photo's ia a pain ...but you did it..good going!!
The Doe looking over her back is wonderful..precious face!! : }
Okay I have a great imagination...but this time I can't find what you see...so it has to be a invisable ghost!!
I need some hints!! : }}
Kim, Steve, Theresa, thank you for the comments. :)
Grace, thank you.
If you look at the tree in the middle of the photo, there is a face. Two eyes a nose and a mouth.
Hey, great time of year for the ghost to show up!

And it's smiling! :o) Love the doe shot.
