Hooded Merganser and a January Robin...

Our morning began with a heavy fog. Not good for wildlife photography. The way I look at it is that I'm documenting a day and what ever is presented weather wise will be what it is. Any way... The first couple photos kind of demonstrate the conditions of the morning. Unfortunately the photos of the Hooded Mergansers also demonstrate the conditions. The Robin however was later that same morning and very co-operative.

Birrrrr...ds

We are experiencing some cold weather around here and our birds demonstrate this by puffing themselves up.

Birds not very co-operative, but, look at that fence...

A Whitetail Buck a Groundhog and Milkweed up close...

Here you will see a nice Whitetail buck leaving his sent by rubbing and licking a branch that hangs over its head. Then he scrapes an area below the branch and leaves his sent there also. All in high hopes of attracting a doe. Often times a Groundhog will appear, eat his fill and disappear. The Milkweed in it's fall glory.

A Great Blue Heron, Fox Squirrel and Eastern Bluebirds

A lone GBH (Great Blue Heron) was patiently scouting the waters of a local river. It stoically waited for timeless minutes in the same position. It's patience was greater than mine, I had to leave. Then I saw a Fox Squirrel. He was bouncing across a field into the trees close by. Shortly after this encounter I was visited by several Eastern Bluebirds. They can be entertaining.
