A Good Morning, A Baltimore Oriole, A Great White Egret, Snapping Turtles and some Mourning Doves...

The first couple photos are of an early morning at the Lilypons Water Gardens. Next a female Baltimore Oriole tending her fledglings. I did see the male but was unable to photograph him. A Great White Egret hunted in a small pond. Female Snapping Turtles will travel a long distance in order to lay their eggs. I was able to capture two. One traveling and one nesting. A pair of Mourning Doves take pause.

loved the peaceful opening scenes! the great egret shots are wonderful, too. the orioles have such a cool nest. and i just relocated a mama snapping turtle i caught on land - down the back road to another pond. they snap legs on our ducks and take ducklings! eek! i know they've got to eat, too...

I truly enjoyed scrolling through this marvelous post filled with stellar photographs, Larry! The foggy scenic shots had me oohing and ahhing. How lucky you were to capture the female oriole feeding her young. They really do have interesting nests. We have orioles nesting on our property but their nests are located in densely leaved trees. I've never seen a Snapping Turtle up close, so I really liked viewing your terrific images. Lovely elegant egrets too. Excellent post!
