I had some butterflies showing their colors the other day, Astyanax Red-spotted Purple, Monarch and a Tiger Swallowtail. Along with a few Dragonflies, a beautiful Lily Blossom and a Sneak-a-Peek

A Tundra Swan, some Mallard Drakes, Northern Mockingbird and a Turkey Vulture

The Tundra Swan is twice the size of a Canadian Goose. He was a loner, didn't seem to be bothered to much by my presence. Three Mallards lined up for a photo. A Northern Mockingbird finding insects in the pines. A Turkey Vulture kept circling above me and gave me a few photo ops.

Beavers from a distance...

Again I was privileged to be invited by a fellow blogger ("Natural World Through My Camera" Steve) to photograph a family of Beavers. As you may know beavers are nocturnal. Therefore I needed to set my alarm at 4:30 am in order to be at his house by 5:45 am. We arrived at our destination by 6:30. I had set my ISO at 3200 in order to capture these beasts at this time of day. Well, we sat for maybe thirty minutes before we saw the first one. I was clicking away like a crazy man. Here you will see a few that turned out ok. The last photo is a Whitetail doe, she happened to amble by as we waited for the beaver.

American Goldfinch, Cabbage Moth, Painted Turtle, Spider Web and a Tiger Swallowtail

I'll start off by showing what was a stand of amber waves of grain two days prior to these photos. As I drove past I told myself I have to get a photo of this beautiful field. Well... It still looked pretty cool but I missed my chance of the wavy grains of wheat. An American Goldfinch displayed an interesting eating fashion. A small Cabbage Moth sat upon a nearby thistle. An Indigo Bunting sang from his perch. As I approached  the Mill Pond, several painted turtles were out sunning themselves. As I crossed a small trail bridge I noticed a Spider weaving her Web. Then I was interrupted by a Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. It seemed to have an interest in the shoreline of the creek.
