Foggy Morning...

Fog always adds another dimension to the familiar. There was a particularly foggy morning that encouraged some photos of areas not usually seen as picturesque.

A usually common sight blanketed by  fog displays a soft eerie presentation...

A lane that leads to...

Come, enter the abode...

And around to your left you will notice more fog...
The fog left water droplets hanging on the web...

Another web, more droplets...
A Carolina Wren sets...

A little later in the morning the fog still lingers...

Whats up ahead, I think I see something...

We all see each other at the same time...

OK... We're otta here...

A groundhog appeared from his den from under the tree roots...

He's looking a little bit tired...
 Thanks for stopping by...

Received a Gift Today... Wood Ducks...

I consider seeing and photographing beautiful Wood Ducks a gift. This trio allowed me some of their time. Here are a few of the photos. Also, a Blue Jay stopped by. A Fox Squirrel scampered across a field, stopped, looked and then returned from where he came. A little bit of under water photography. I couldn't get the Turtle to come to the surface.

Here a single male Wood Duck parades his colors...

Wood Ducks, notice the crown on the top bird...

A turtle swimming near the riverbank...

Look at the claws on this guy...

Some Local Birds...

Visiting a couple of my local haunts I was able to capture a few favorites.

Three Canadian Geese coming in for a landing...

A Canadian Goose taking off...
An Eastern Bluebird gives me its backside...

And then turns and gives me the here I am side...
The exact moment I was taking this photo of a Great Blue Heron a large fish broke the surface of the pond...
The Great Blue Herons are gathering at their rookery...

Two mated Great Blue Herons pose at their nest...
A quick visit from a Mocking Bird...

A Red-winged Blackbird announces his presence...
A Robin all puffed up, it was a chilly morning...

Starlings fill the trees...
A Tufted Titmouse sets amongst the branches...
A group of Wild Turkeys feeds in a pasture a long way from the road, I had to take a photo...

Swamp Walk...

A definite first for me and very happy for the experience. Just outside Charleston, South Carolina, maybe thirty miles or so lies one of the oldest plantations in the country. The Magnolia Plantation, founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. On the grounds of this plantation exists a swamp walk. Here, you walk out, around and through the swamp. The photos here are a few of my encounters.

Here you have a 400 year old Virginia Live Oak draped with Spanish Moss...

Here you have two Canadian Geese swimming through the duck weed...

A Canada Goose feeding on the duck weed...
A Little Blue Heron...

A Little Blue Heron eying its prey...
A group of Blue-winged Teal...

Sneaking through the shallows a White Ibis...
And here we have a White Egret...

An Alligator floats amongst the weeds...

An Alligator has crept out of the water and on to a sunning platform...

Here an Alligator shows himself long enough for a photo...

Here two turtles, each about the size of a basketball, sun themselves along with the Alligator...
